Stroke

Knowing the signs of stroke can save your or a loved ones life or prevent/limit a disability.  Every minute counts!

 

  • F - Face     Does one side of the face droop? Ask the person to smile
  • A - Arms    Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms.  Does one arm drift downward?
  • S - Speech  Is speech slurred? As the person to repeat a simple sentence. Is the sentence repeated correctly?
  • T - Time     If the person show any of these symptoms.  CALL 911 or get to a hospital immediately!

 

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning

Altitude (Mountain) Sickness.

When traveling from lower to higher altitudes (usually above 8,000 feet) some people, regardless of age or conditioning, may be affected by altitude sickness.  This can be uncomfortable in it's least effect and possibly life threatening at it's greatest impact on the body.
